The Secret to Success
We choose to work in HARMONY with our dog by making the decision to turn challenges into OPPORTUNITIES by seeing them for what they truly are, which is ‘teachable moments’ – and not just for our dogs but for ourselves as well. We do this by releasing all judgments about our dog’s behavior and our response to them and instead create a vision for what we want to CREATE that both EMPOWERS and LOVES one another and gives us BOTH (human and dog) a lifestyle and relationship that we’re truly grateful to God to be a part of.
Puppy Training
According to the Veterinarian Guidelines that we follow in order to be endorsed by the Veterinarian Community, the single most time-sensitive thing a new puppy parent can do is to bring their not-yet-fully vaccinated puppy to an indoor parvo disinfected puppy class to be well socialized to both people and dogs and to learn proper ‘bite inhibition’ and ‘soft jaw’ pressure. In addition to learning how to properly socialize with their peers, your puppy should also learn the beginner’s basic obedience cues for – “watch me”, “stay”, “come”, “down”, “heel”, “leave it” and “place.” Your puppy should be taught this with both hand signals and voice cues. No harsh corrections.
Basic Obedience
Our Basic Obedience training is all about teaching dog’s healthy boundaries in the home and in public so your dog can be welcome wherever you go. In addition to teaching what we call The Divine Dog’s ‘Top 10’ Destiny Moments – “watch me”, “stay”, “come”, “down”, “heel”, “leave it” “settle” “wait” “drop it”and “place”, our goal is to teach all dogs solid ‘real-life’ skills in order to support and promote a philosophy of respect for life and all living beings.
Behavior Modification
The Divine Dog offers behavior consultations and behavior modification training services for all problem behaviors, including separation anxiety, leash reactivity, remedial socialization, dog-to-dog conflict, resource guarding, and dog-to-human aggression. The Divine Dog Training method is a 100% science based, positive reinforcement methodology without the use of coercion and without the use of force. Our behavior modification treatment plans are specifically designed to mitigate any and all undesirable behaviors that your dog may exhibit and are specifically tailored to each dog’s individual needs.
Board & Train
In our Traditional Board & Train program, your dog will come and live with us and be part of The Divine Dog family for a predetermined number of days. Your dog will stay and train with us (and is actually living in our head trainer’s home). Our Traditional Board & Train program is designed so that your dog receives the best education we can offer with the goal of responding to you when it’s time to return home.
'Reverse' Board & Train
In our Reverse Board & Train program’, one of our trustworthy head trainers will be living in your home for you while you’re on vacation doing a combination of day training and overnight pet sitting. Since dogs are what we refer to as “contextual learners,” science tells us they learn best in relation to their own environment. As a result, the learning curve is shorter, results happen faster and your dog will associate the pleasure of learning and growing to her own home turf. The best part about our ‘Reverse’ Board & Train program is that because your dog has already been taught in relation to their own environment, there will be less work for you in having to reinforce all of the new behaviors she learned, compared to if you choose to do our Traditional Board & Train program.
Group Classes
In our Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Communication classes, in addition to teaching your puppy or dog solid basic obedience, we give you a greater understanding of your role in your dog’s behavioral obstacles and how they originated. We then provide you with many practical applications on how to overcome them, turning them from potential negative experiences into positive healing opportunities.

MORE THAN OBEDIENCE
Private Training Client
What stood out most was the calm presence during sessions. There was no pressure and no judgment, just clear guidance. We weren’t just shown what to do, we were taught why it mattered. That understanding changed how we interact with our dog every day. The results have been steady and lasting.

A PEACEFUL START
Puppy Training Client
We started puppy training feeling completely overwhelmed. Potty accidents, biting, zoomies late at night — we were questioning whether we were doing anything right. What helped most was not just teaching commands, but learning how to create calm routines and clear structure. Once we adjusted sleep, feeding, and consistency, everything improved. Our puppy now settles in the evenings and responds reliably to basic cues. Our home feels peaceful again.

FROM OVERWHELMED TO CALM
Basic Obedience Client
We reached out when our 8 month old Goldendoodle was pulling so hard on walks that it stopped being enjoyable to take him out. He was also jumping on every guest who walked through the door. Within a few sessions, we understood how our energy and structure were contributing to the chaos. The leash work alone changed everything. Walks are calm now, and guests can come inside without being tackled. The shift felt gradual but solid, and it has lasted.

REACTIVITY AND RESTORED CONFIDENCE
Behavior Modification Client
“Our dog developed reactivity toward other dogs after a negative experience at a park. We were crossing streets and avoiding certain times of day just to prevent outbursts. The behavior modification plan was structured and realistic. We learned how to recognize early stress signals instead of waiting for a reaction. After several weeks of consistent work, the reactions decreased significantly. We still stay aware, but we feel back in control and our dog seems far more confident.
